Meta has introduced its AI-powered feature, ‘Imagine Me,’ in India, allowing users to generate personalized images of themselves in different styles and environments. Initially launched last year in select countries such as the US, the feature is now expanding to a broader audience via Meta platforms like Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and the Meta AI app. Currently, it is confirmed to function on Instagram and Facebook
Generate Personalized Images Using Simple Prompts
The ‘Imagine Me’ feature enables users to create custom images by describing how they’d like to look and the setting they want to be in. Through a chat with Meta AI on supported platforms, users can enter prompts like “Imagine me as a 90s hip-hop star” or “Imagine me as a farmer on the moon.” The AI then requests access to analyze facial data to generate realistic images. To proceed, users must upload three selfies showing their front, left, and right facial angles.
Once users upload their selfies and enter a prompt, Meta AI quickly generates a personalized image within seconds. They can keep experimenting by sending new prompts to visualize themselves in various roles or environments. If the result isn’t quite right, users have the option to edit, regenerate, or delete the image. They can also retake their photos or turn off the feature at any time.
To maintain transparency, images created with this tool include a watermark reading ‘Imagined with AI.’ Additionally, Meta plans to label other AI-generated visuals with an ‘AI info’ tag as part of its updated policy on AI content disclosure.
Steps to Use ‘Imagine Me’ on Meta Platforms
- Open the Meta AI chat on WhatsApp, Facebook, or Instagram.
- Enter a prompt beginning with “Imagine me as” and send it (e.g., “Imagine me as a superhero”).
- Grant permission for facial analysis by uploading three selfies from different angles.
- Receive your custom AI-generated image and explore more prompts.
- Edit, regenerate, or delete images as needed.
This feature introduces a new and creative way to turn your imagination into visuals using AI, and it’s now accessible to users across India.
